3rd & 4th Grade News Corner
June 5, 2018
3 more days of school left!!!! For Bible we are reading about being ready for Jesus’ second coming. In Science, we will be planting more in the garden this week. Please have your child bring boots. Tomorrow is our last day in the garden. It looks great! We’ve got cabbage, carrots, lettuce, onions and radishes growing. Students planted Dahlia bulbs that we will harvest when we return to school in August and September. In Social Studies we are finishing viewing Google Slides Presentations on their states. Everyone has done a great job!
Awards Assembly Day:
TOMORROW, Wednesday, June 6 is our school wide awards assembly in the gym at 8:40a.m. Parents are welcome to join us as each teacher will hand out around 4-8 positive attitude and academic excellence awards. Following this assembly (around 30 minutes later) in Mrs. Patchin’s room, Mr. Mac will hand out all grades 3/4 track and field awards.
Please note, Grades 3/4 will NO longer join together to hand out individual awards as we have in years passed. In order to focus more on our own students, each teacher will be having a special celebration, of some sort, with her class sometime this last week of school.
Moving Boxes Needed:
We are getting new carpet in our classroom this summer. However, that means packing EVERYTHING up and off the floors. If anyone has any moving boxes, I’d appreciate them so I can pack up the room. Thanks so much.
There are 12:30 releases both Thursday and Friday this week.
June 7 is our cleaning day. Please have your child bring a large bag to take all their school goodies home in. I’m not sure everything will fit in their back packs.
We will be playing board games on Friday so your child can bring in their favorite game if they’d like to. Mr. Mac will be have a capture the flag game down on the field with all 3rd & 4th graders too.
